Learning Through Play

Play is an essential part of being a child from earliest babyhood onwards.
Much of children's play is exploration and experimentation and it is through this exploration of the world around them that children learn.
In all areas of our nursery we offer opportunities - materials, environment, good examples and encouragement - for happy and productive play and then allow your child to be free to get on with it!

In addition to this staff plan for daily focused activities, where they work with small groups or individuals on fun tasks that stretch the children's imagination and skills

0-2 years
Babies thrive on warmth, love and affection. Our staff ratio of at least one adult to every three babies ensures that your baby receives all the individual care and attention that they need.
In addition to this we provide lots of space to play and explore with new textures and bright colours, perfect for those first discoveries.

2-3 years
Between 2 and 3 years old children become physically more mobile, develop their use of language and become more able to make friends and play co-operatively. To encourage this natural development we provide water, sand and creative materials as well as role play areas such as home corner, shop or hospital and dressing up. We also have quiet areas for resting, reflecting and stories.

3-5 years
The development of your child as an independent and reasoning individual really blossoms in these preschool years. Children's attention, memory and imagination become increasingly under control enabling them to solve puzzles and concentrate on more complex games.
Through out this age group children continue to learn best by doing so we provide them with the same play equipment as in earlier stages as well as more challenging activities.
